Top 10 Home Remedies for Psoriasis Relief
Forget Everything You Have learned About Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterized by red, itchy, and scaly patches. It affects millions of people worldwide, causing discomfort and sometimes embarrassment. While medical treatments are available, many individuals seek natural remedies to help alleviate symptoms and manage flare-ups. On my 15 year journey I tried em all and was prescribed them all. Some things made a difference and some made it better, then it became much worse. I will categoryize a few things below and how it affected me.
Moisturize Regularly
Keeping your skin well-moisturized is crucial in managing psoriasis. Dry skin can worsen the condition, leading to more severe flare-ups. Opt for thick, fragrance-free creams or ointments that lock in moisture. Applying these after a bath or shower can help trap moisture in your skin, providing relief from itching and dryness. Oktas 1 is loaded with antimicrobials and antifungals. When I learned my psoriasis was a fungas, this was a major game changer in my relief, until I deveopled the Oktas 1 protocol. Ive been clear ever since. If I say on any forum or platform psoriasis is a fungus, I immediately get attacked by the natzi mods, who are consistently pushing biologics. Post removed or blocked. What happened to freedom of speech Lobster_johnson? Who is a mod on Reddit and brags how big there lobster is? We all know it is really >...< this big. And how can somone take you serious when your maturety level is as high as your IQ?
Not everyone can afford biologics and not everyone wants to inject themselves with who knows what into there body. Pretty ironic all of a sudden the biologics are in abundance and all of them are so rediculously expensive? If your insurance company pays for it and at $18,000 a shot, how long before they say enough? What is the price down the road? I am not just talking dollar wise.
Natural Oils
Consider using natural oils like Oktas 1, coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil or vitamin E oil, as part of your moisturizing routine. Coconut oil is a natural antifungal and Oktas 1 is loaded with antimicrobials and antifungals all working in harmony. These oils are rich in nutrients and can help soothe inflamed skin. Simply apply a thin layer to the affected areas and let it absorb naturally, rub it in good! I see a lot of post stating that vitamin E oil has cleared a lot of folks and it is always a brand from Dollar General. When I saw something like this I immediatly got on it. Vitamin E oil kept it from drying out, but it played no role with me clearing up. Oktas 1 was the only one that did and to this day is still the only one that has kept it gone and had no retaliation. Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera is known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. Applying pure aloe vera gel to the affected areas can help reduce redness and scaling. For best results, use fresh aloe vera gel directly from the plant or opt for a store-bought gel with a high concentration of aloe.
I was literally buying fresh aloe from the grocery store and cut a small piece off daily and applied it. It did infact help quite a bit. However when using it on my scalp and it dried, it really made it look like dandruff extremily bad. So if you are not putting Oktas 1 on your scalp at night, this is a great sleeper gel. Dont forget your sleep cap!
Dead Sea Salt Baths
Soaking in a warm bath with Dead Sea salts or any salts can provide significant relief for psoriasis sufferers, however it is very temporary. The minerals in salts help to soften the skin and reduce scaling. Add about a cup of Dead Sea salt, epsom salt or magnesium salt to your bath and soak for 15-20 minutes. Always moisturize after bathing to prevent dryness.
Dietary Adjustments
Your diet can play a role in managing psoriasis. Some individuals find relief by eliminating certain foods that trigger inflammation, such as dairy or gluten. Incorporating anti-inflammatory foods like fatty fish, leafy greens, and nuts can also be beneficial. Food absolutely can play a role, but not the way you think. Alcohol and sugar etc deplete important minerals that play an important role in whole body health. Some people are also limited on mineral and amino acid absorbtion, this is why some diets help some people. I did all of the psoriasis diets and you can read about them. They did nothing for me until I learned psoriasis is a fungal. I was extreme with my diets and never swayed and did them three months. if I had it to do over again, I would absolutely see an allergy doctor, not a dermatologist.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish oil, have been shown to reduce inflammation and improve symptoms in some individuals with psoriasis. Consider adding fish like salmon or mackerel to your diet, or take a high-quality fish oil supplement. Who can go wrong eating this?
Apple Cider Vinegar (Don't do it)
Apple cider vinegar is a popular home remedy for scalp psoriasis. Its antiseptic properties can help alleviate itching and irritation. Dilute it with water and apply to the scalp, leaving it on for a few minutes before rinsing. Be cautious if you have open wounds, as vinegar can cause a burning sensation. I was at the point where I kept a bottle of AVC in the shower. It descaled extremely well, however it always came back with a vengeance. When you are desperate you will try anything. White vinegar is awesome at killing mold spores and mold, think about that for a bit. Bleach does nothing and actually boosts mold. Toss the toxic bleach out and yes I soaked in bleach as well. It was no help, so if you are thinking that, mark it off of your list.
Oatmeal Baths (Funny)
Oatmeal baths are another soothing remedy for psoriasis. Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce itching and redness. Add finely ground oatmeal to your bathwater and soak for about 15 minutes. This simple remedy can provide much-needed relief from discomfort. Oatmeal does nothing. I knew it probably would not help, but once again I was desperate. If I am trying bleach and dead sea salt, I am sure as hell going to try oatmeal. The itch stopped until I got out and padded dry and I used a lot of oatmeal several bags per bath. The expensive one made by Aveeno. Extremely temporary relief. At one point my back was solid and I could literally feel it crawling under my skin. I saw a video on TikTok with a guy adding parasites to a slide and then drops of alcohol. They stopped moving! I jumped up, grapped a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol and handed it to my girlfriend, she sprayed it on my back and the itching and crawling instantly stopped!! And then in the video they came back to life!! And so did mine!! It was like they drank to much and passed out and was ready to party again! As I scrolled through the microscope videos, I did notice that baking soda did in fact stop them and for good. The pineapple juice made them explode. I did see a pineapple video saying a pineapple diet would clear psoriasis and did in fact try it. All it did was give me fever blisters ( thank goodness for Oktas 1, it knocks out fever blisters before they start and gets them gone 75% faster than anything I ever tried. I quit eating citrus in 2016 when I learned it did in fact give me blisters and never had another until I tried the pineapple diet. It never hit me to try pineapple topically or baking soda. These two would probably give longer itch relief, if you do not have any Oktas 1.
Stress Management
Stress is a known trigger for psoriasis flare-ups. Incorporating stress-reducing practices such as yoga, meditation, or deep breathing exercises into your daily routine can help manage symptoms. Finding time to relax and unwind is essential for overall well-being. I am an absolute beliver in meditation. it changed my life in the 90's. Ive even saw a post on Reddit somone posted that meditation healed them. I laughed at first, then it hit me, they are probably correct, while meditation will in fact lead to a solution and that is where I am today. So don't knock it until you try it!
These home remedies can complement your existing psoriasis treatment plan. However, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before trying new remedies, especially if you have severe symptoms or other health conditions.
